At Snyder Dermatology, our board-certified dermatologists offer Juvéderm® injections for facial rejuvenation at our practice in Austin, TX. Juvéderm® is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved facial filler typically used to reduce wrinkles and increase volume in different areas of the face. Composed of hyaluronic acid, Juvéderm® last up to a year in most cases, and allows you to maintain a soft, natural appearance through the implementation of Hylacross technology. Juvéderm® improves the overall look of your face and skin by minimizing smile lines, creases, and wrinkles which improve the overall appearance of the skin. Juvéderm® may be administered to patients 21 years-of-age or older. During a private consultation with one of our dermatologists, we will analyze your skin to see if Juvéderm® is the right injectable for you, and it can be combined with other facial treatments for optimal results.

Candidates of Juvéderm® are men and women with bothersome wrinkles, commonly ranging from age 28 – 65. However, Juvéderm® is also recommended to those with thin lips, who desire more volume.

Keep in mind:

• Patients who use Ibuprofen and/or aspirin should inform their dermatologist, and may be instructed to discontinue for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Juvéderm® is not recommended to patients with multiple severe allergies or those who are allergic to Gram-positive bacteria. Patients should discuss any allergies they have may with their dermatologist prior to receiving Juvéderm® injections.

Once the desired result and target areas are discussed with your dermatologist in the first consultation, an appointment can be easily made for treatment.

At your injection session, specific points are outlined on the treatment area, and then injected with Juvéderm®. Common areas of injection are the lips, cheeks and fine lines near the nose and mouth. If you are concerned about discomfort, a numbing cream is readily available to be applied for a more comfortable experience. Pain is minimal and lasts only a moment after injection. Appointments typically last 30 – 45 minutes, and patients can resume day-to-day activities following the procedure but should specifically refrain from vigorous activities like running, heavy lifting or contact sports. Minor swelling, redness, and bruising is possible but can be diminished by applying an ice pack. These symptoms may last 2- 7 days.

Juvéderm® is a temporary solution to wrinkles and thin lips that normally last 9 – 12 months. Cost of treatment at our dermatology practice varies depending on the amount needed, and a Juvéderm® single session can require 2 – 3 syringes. The results produce smoother, younger looking skin.
