The Lip Filler Treatment
Lip filler appointments at Snyder Dermatology typically take 30 to 45 minutes. After a consultation to determine your goals, the treatment area is cleansed, and a topical numbing agent is available for patients who prefer one. Your dermatologist then injects the filler using a fine needle, carefully shaping and volumizing the lips to achieve a balanced, natural-looking result.
Recovery and Results
Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site is common after lip filler and typically resolves within a few days. Most patients return to normal activities immediately, though we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours. Results are visible immediately and continue to settle as swelling subsides, with results typically lasting up to a year depending on the product used. Individual results vary based on the filler selected and each patient’s anatomy.
Home care is an important part of the process as well. Keeping the lips gently hydrated and avoiding harsh exfoliants in the days following treatment helps results settle properly.
