Belotero BALANCE® in Austin, TX

Our Austin, TX dermatology office offers Belotero®, a new injectable filler that addresses a number of cosmetic concerns. Made from hyaluronic acid, Belotero® is a longer lasting filler that can smoothen wrinkles and lines near the nose, mouth, and lips. It adds softness, definition, and contour where natural volume has been depleted due to age, environment, weight loss, or simple gravity. When a patient desires to rejuvenate aged skin, our board-certified Austin dermatologists may suggest this filler, depending on the patient's exact needs, skin type, and correction needed. 

Belotero® is a filler that can be used for more superficial wrinkles and lines and has proven to be especially effective around the nasolabial folds and in the areas between the nose and mouth. While there are other fillers derived from the same substance, Belotero® has been formulated to improve these areas superficially, which we use for those with more precise correction needs, such as those with sun damage, smokers lines, etc. where lines tend to be at rest.

Belotero® is a treatment that is performed right inside our dermatology office within our facility.  It is a simple and quick procedure that typically takes under 30 minutes. This is dependent upon how many injection sites there are, as well as how long or if a numbing cream is used. The substance is injected into the skin using a fine needle and then the injector will gently apply a cold press and lightly massage the area if needed. Prior to the injection, the areas of concern will be marked and discussed with you. 

During a Belotero® treatment, the patient generally does not feel any major discomfort other than a minor pain. There will be some swelling and redness immediately after the injection, but this goes away within a couple of hours. Patients usually leave the office with a small cold pack to place lightly over the injection areas to help with swelling. There is little to no downtime associated with a Belotero® treatment. Patients should avoid heavy exercise for about 18–24 hours. Results are immediately noticed and can last up to 6 months or longer. There may be some mild bruising which can last 1-2 weeks.
